Campus Locations for Nurse Residency Program

Our Nurse Residency Program is offered at multiple locations across Florida and other states, including Greater Tampa, Ocala, Sebring, Greater Daytona, Tavares, Greater Orlando, Calhoun, GA, Merriam, KS, Manchester, KY, Hendersonville, NC, Killeen, TX, Burleson, TX and Durand, WI.

Units Offered

New graduate RN full time positions may be available on various units, including Medical/Surgical Specialty, PCU, Critical Care, Emergency Department and Women and Children Specialties. Availability is subject to change based on campus needs.

Work Hours/Shift

Full time positions with day and night shifts are available to accommodate diverse schedules.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Nurse Resident at AdventHealth is entrusted with providing and supervising direct and indirect nursing care to age specific groups. The role involves utilizing the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.

During the training program, Nurse Residents and experienced nurses entering the program are under the direct supervision of a preceptor ensuring a successful transition to independent practice after program completion. Adherence to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan, as well as local, state and federal regulations, is paramount.

Active participation in outstanding customer service is encouraged, fostering respectful relationships with all stakeholders.


To be eligible for the Nurse Residency Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Graduation from a nursing school (CCNE or ACEN preferred).
  2. Graduating within the next year or having graduated within the past year.
  3. Current RN license (application allowed without a license but a license is required before hiring).
  4. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  6. Submission of a professional resume.

Licensure Deadline

Candidates must obtain an RN license before the program start date.
